…southern italian skies specifically, formed the inspiration for the exhibition design: A 90-meter-long sky panorama with subtly changing weather and atmosphere as we move along. The impressive scenographic backdrop in the space transported visitors right into the ancient city of Paestum and the characteristic beauty of the landscape of southern Italy. Naturalistic and unearthly at the same time, the ethereal scenery served as a visual metaphor for the passage of time, the cyclical nature of life, and the divine influences that have shaped Paestum’s rich history and culture.
