Inspiration from the past
Present-day artists often draw inspiration from age-old techniques and formal idioms. This certainly applies to the eight artists were selected for the exhibition by guest curator Sandrine van Noort (curator of the LUMC art collection). The artists reflect, each in his or her own way, on aspects from the past. Three of them made new work especially for this occasion that contains clear allusions to the museum’s collections.
